01. WHAT WE BUILD
WHAT WE BUILD IN Tampa, FL
We keep the Tampa lineup tight on purpose. These are the two projects we do here, and we do both under one roof.
Above-ground pools
A real pool on your own lot without a months-long dig — resin-coated, saltwater-ready, permitted and bonded, set on a pad built for your ground. Read the full guide: above-ground pool installation in Tampa.
Wood & composite decks
Raised decks for older bungalows, low platforms for slab homes, and decks wrapped around above-ground pools, in pressure-treated wood or TimberTech, AZEK, Deckorators and Trex. Read the full guide: deck installation in Tampa.
Put them together and you get the package most Tampa families are after: a pool you step into from a deck instead of climbing a ladder, with code-compliant stairs and one design that ties the yard together. One contract covers both, and the same crew builds both.

02. before you plan
four things to know before you plan
Tampa projects run into a few local hurdles that you won't find in a national pool or deck guide. We handle all of them, but it helps to know they're coming:
- Your permit office depends on your address. City of Tampa, Temple Terrace, Plant City or Hillsborough County — we look up your parcel first.
- Flood zones are common near the water. If FEMA maps your lot in a flood zone, there's an extra floodplain review.
- Some neighborhoods review the design. Historic districts like Hyde Park and Seminole Heights, and HOA communities like FishHawk Ranch and Westchase, approve plans before the permit.
- The ground matters. Hillsborough is sinkhole country and a lot of it sits close to the water table, so we walk the lot before we pick a spot.
The pool and deck pages above go into each of these in detail. The short version: a site walk up front saves you surprises later.
Want us to check your address, flood zone and HOA before you plan anything? It's part of the free site walk.

03. the community
DISCOVERING tampa, FLORIDA
A city of neighborhoods
Tampa isn't one place. South Tampa's brick streets and live oaks, the bungalows of Seminole Heights, the cigar-factory history of Ybor City, and the suburbs that keep spreading out through Westchase, New Tampa, Brandon and Riverview all live in very different houses. That's why we start every project by looking at the house and the lot, not a catalog.
Life on the bay and the rivers
Bayshore Boulevard's waterfront sidewalk, the Hillsborough River winding through downtown, Lettuce Lake Park's boardwalk and the canals of Apollo Beach — Tampa lives around the water. The same water shapes how we build: flood maps, wind exposure and salt air near the bay, sandy ground and afternoon storms inland.
An outdoor season that never really ends
Between Gasparilla in January and the long, hot summer, Tampa families spend most of the year outside. A pool and a deck turn the yard into the place everybody actually wants to be — for weekend cookouts, kids home from school, or a quiet evening after the storm rolls through.
04. neighborhoods
where we build across hillsborough county
Every part of the county brings its own kind of project. Here's what we tend to see:
South Tampa and Hyde Park
Tight lots under big oaks, close to the bay. Decks that make the most of a small yard are the usual ask, and design review applies inside the historic district.
Seminole Heights and Tampa Heights
Older homes that sit up off the ground, on lots with more depth than width. Raised decks and stair landings lead here, with an above-ground pool out back where the yard allows.
Carrollwood, Westchase and Town 'n' Country
Established suburbs with mid-size lots — a natural fit for an above-ground pool with a deck wrapped around it. Westchase sends plans through its HOA first.
Brandon, Riverview, Valrico and FishHawk
Family neighborhoods and newer subdivisions east and south of the city. Pool-and-deck packages are the most common project, and HOA approval is part of the plan.
Apollo Beach and the South Shore
Canal and bayfront lots where wind, salt and flood maps shape the build. Decks built for the exposure, and pools placed with drainage and flood review in mind.
05. onne crew
one crew, start to finish
Tampa has plenty of contractors who sell the job and hand it to whoever is free that week. Right Way is a licensed Florida pool contractor running its own pool and deck crews across Central Florida and Tampa Bay, from our home office in Vero Beach.
- One contract for the pool, the deck, or both.
- One project contact and one phone number — (772) 758-5372.
- Permits and inspections handled through final closeout.
- Right Way workmanship warranties — 1 year on above-ground pool installs and 2 years on decks — on top of the manufacturers' warranties.
Financing is available through HFS Financial, Lyon Financial and Foundation Finance for qualified homeowners — see financing options.
06. FAQS
COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT Orlando OUTDOOR LIVING
What outdoor projects does Right Way build in Tampa?
Above-ground pools and wood or composite decks. That covers raised and ground-level house decks, decks wrapped around above-ground pools, and pool-and-deck packages built under one contract. We keep the Tampa lineup to those two services so the same crew handles every part of the job, from permit to final inspection.
Should I build the pool and the deck at the same time?
Usually, yes. Planning them together lets us lay out the pad and the deck footings as one design, set the deck at the pool's top-rail height, and handle the stairs and safety barrier once. You also get one permit plan, one contract and one crew instead of two separate projects.
Can you add a deck to an above-ground pool I already have in Tampa?
Yes, in most cases. We check that the pool is level and in good shape, measure the top-rail height, and build a full-wrap or partial deck to match, with code-compliant stairs. The deck has to keep your pool's safety barrier legal, so we design the stairs and gate around that.
Which parts of Hillsborough County does Right Way cover?
All of it, including Tampa, Temple Terrace, Plant City and unincorporated communities like Brandon, Riverview, Valrico, Lutz, Carrollwood, Westchase, FishHawk and Apollo Beach. Call (772) 758-5372 and we'll set up a free site walk, wherever in the county you are.
